Chennai Tricolor Initiative Trust
Democracy is often described as a government by the people, of the people and for the people. While citizen engagement is a crucial element to making democracy work, most citizens are ill-informed and relegate that crucial task. How can citizens contribute and work WITH the government towards a better outcome? We want to build an institution that will act as a bridge between citizens and the government which isn't used to collaborating. We, as an institution are building that bridge - and it is crucial not just for better governance, but to have a chance in strengthening participatory democracy.
Why
We are dreamers; most days realists with a lot of love for our country. We hope to help in whatever way possible in the various issues faced in our cities, societies and country.
What
We are a non-profit organization that works on several volunteer driven initiatives.
How
We collaborate with several stakeholders; Government, NGOs, Corporates and Citizens to help improve our society.
Team
Our core team consists of entrepreneurs, technologists, artists, architects, marketing folks and many more with varied backgrounds and life experiences. We’d like to keep it that way since it brings diverse ideas as we work on existing initiatives and start new ones. Since all our members have full time jobs, there are times they aren’t very active and times when they are extremely active depending on the task at hand!
